Accessibility
Our commitment
This site is built to be usable by as many people as possible, including with a screen reader, by keyboard alone, or at high zoom. That matters more than usual here, because people reading it are often unwell.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with a correct heading order on every page
- Text and interface contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 AA (4.5:1 for body text), measured rather than assumed
- Full keyboard operability, with visible focus indicators
- Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling at 400% zoom
- Alt text on images that carry meaning
- No motion or animation that could trigger discomfort
- The phone number reachable as text and as a link, not only as an image
Known limitations
This site was audited on 30 July 2026 against WCAG 2.1 AA. We would rather publish what was actually measured, and what was not, than a general assurance.
Measured and passing:
- Contrast. All 23 text and interface colour pairs were computed, not eyeballed. The lowest ratio on the site is 4.89:1 against a 4.5:1 requirement; the primary call button is 6.44:1.
- Heading order. Every page carries exactly one `h1` and no skipped heading levels.
- Landmarks and keyboard use. Skip link, header, navigation, main and footer landmarks are present; focus indicators are visible; there are no positive tab-index values.
Not yet tested, and worth saying so:
- No screen-reader testing with real assistive technology. The markup is semantic and landmarked, but that is not the same as having been driven by someone using a screen reader.
- Reflow at 400% zoom has been verified in the stylesheet rather than in a rendered browser.
- The site currently carries no photography. When images are added, alt text must be written for anything that carries meaning, and this page updated to match.
That list is what we know, not a guarantee.
